The number of vape users in the UK soars to 5.1 million per day, with over half being women

According to a report by ITV News in the UK, a significant number of Britons are turning to vape in attempts to quit smoking, but many are finding it increasingly difficult to kick the vape habit as well.

A survey exclusively shared with ITV News by a UK addiction treatment group indicates that there are now 5.1 million adult vape users daily in the UK, with over half being women, totaling 2.6 million, including nearly 400,000 pregnant women.

Moreover, the use of vape across all age groups is rapidly increasing, with over 1 million users in the 40-49 age range and more than 850,000 users aged 18-24.

Paul Aveyard from the charity Quitting smoking with the help of e-cigarettes said that there has been an increase in calls from people wanting to quit smoking.

"If we go back five years, perhaps 10% of people were using vape. But at that point, they were dual users. This means they were both smoking and using vape."

He stated that now over 20% are e-cigarette users, with an increasing number joining smoking cessation programs who have never smoked before and solely use vape.
